The classic American novel by Fitzgerald is back on the scene this spring with the release of the movie starring Carrie Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio. With Baz Luhrmann directing( Romeo+Juliet, Moulin Rouge) and cinematography that is bound for an Oscar nom, this film is sure to be a success. Even if it isn't, all us die hard DiCaprio fans will still swear it was ;)
It seems that Hollywood isn't the only area infected with Gatsby fever. The SS 2013 runways were packed with stunning Gatsby inspired styles. Etro, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, and Gucci( as featured below) were just a few of the designers that chose to honor the 20s this season. From Ralph Lauren's feminine, pastel looks, to Oscar de la Renta's stunning fringed frocks, these looks are just dying to be taken out for a glamorous night on the town. However, my very favorites are the Gucci looks. A little more modern and with a whole lot of edge, these three dresses really make a statement. Which looks are your favorite?
Make sure not to miss the movie when it opens in theaters May 10th. In the meantime, put on a strand of pearls and a beaded top and channel your inner Daisy! The revival of the Great Gatsby is the perfect excuse to go big. In the meantime, check out some of the amazing tracks from the soundtrack. Lana del Rey AND Florence Welch on one album!? Yes please.
Well...you know what I'll be doing next weekend!
