Hot Spring Trend: Warm Weather Leather

by Lauren

With springtime styling right around the corner, I wanted to highlight one of my favorite trends that has already been seen on the runways and in tons of celeb spottings! Leather is one of my must-haves. I would wear some form of leather every day if I could, and maybe now I can since leather is warming up and making a transition to Spring! Here are some of my favorite ways to wear warm weather leather.

Celebrities and  fashionistas like Zoe Saldana and Blake Lively have been rocking leather dresses in punchy spring colors on the red carpet recently. I am loving this look! The structured cuts of the dresses creates a sophisticated and feminine silhouette, while the bright colors make the look oh so fun and fresh for spring.

This season, leather can be worn in literally every way imaginable. From tanks and skirts, to dresses and pants, there is a leather ensemble perfect for any occasion. Here are some more ways to wear leather!

Miranda Kerr, Eva Longoria, and Whitney Port sport sexy leather shorts. These can be dressed up or down and if you've been wearing them this winter with tights, get ready to rock them with a bare leg! If you want something a little more tame, opt for a flirty leather skirt by Love Leather.

Here are some of my picks( I fell in love with the cerulean dress!):

Blackwell Shorts( $77)Walter Cerulean And White Faux-Leather Cutout Back 'patrick' Dress( $139), Tinsley Road Vegan Leather Peplum Top ($75), Mango Cobalt Jeans ($40), Zara White Leather Embroidered Skirt( $89)

Styling Note: Since a leather ensemble makes a bold statement, keep the rest of your look simple to balance everything out. Do this by keeping hair simple and opting for a  top knot or loose, beachy waves.  For makeup, choose to highlight one feature. I think a black leather dress looks gorgeous with a smoky eye and natural lip, while bright leather looks awesome paired with a complementary pop of color on lips( as seen in the photos above.) Have fun rocking this new trend!
