Happy Monday! Here are our top 5 fave looks from this year's event!
1. Kate Hudson
This lovely lady was the picture of class and sophistication in this black form- fitting Alexander McQueen. Not only can she pull of the plunging neckline, but the added flare at the bottom accentuates her lovely curves. Although she didn't win any awards, she is definitely our award winner for "Best Dressed" of the night.
We all recognize this gorgeous gal from the hit series Downton Abbey. While we can't deny the show's cult-like following, we just can't bring ourselves to add another show to our ever increasing sitcom schedule. However, after seeing Michelle in this beautiful Alexandre Vauthier number, we are ready to reconsider! This classic, yet sexy look is impossible to ignore.
3. Jessica Chastain
This bonny red head is anything but boring in this stunning aquamarine Calvin Klein gown. Calvin is one of the most iconic American designers and always seems to leave a lasting impression when worn on the red carpet. Congrats to Miss Chastain on her big win for Best Actress in her role in Zero Dark Thirty.
4. Naomi Watts
In her walk down the red carpet, Naomi opted for the ever-chic Hollywood red, with her own unique twist. This deep blood red is simple perfection against her porcelain skin and pale blonde hair. The excellent tailoring of this dress made by Zac Posen shows off Naomi's slim figure. Not many could look as great as she does in this dress, but this nominee is a perfect ten. We originally loved the front of this dress, however, when we saw the back it became possibly our very favorite dress of the night.
5. Kerry Washington
Last but not least, this dress, although very different from our other picks, could not be left out. We love the sheer neckline, as well as the sheer skirt. The delicate bejeweled fabric, though revealing quite a bit of skin, still manages to be completely sophisticated and red carpet worthy. We are also loving those bangs on her!
Overall, the trend last night seemed to be simple elegance. Most of the gowns were deep, vibrant colors, with form fitting silhouettes. Though not all of our picks were winners, they sure are in our books! We can't wait to see what the best of Hollywood has in store (and in their closets) for next year! And also, if you haven't seen Anne Hathaway's epic performance in Les Miserables (Best Comedy/Musical Winner) then you should get on that ASAP!
